Tamworth Festival 2012 news from John Elliott’s elliottcountry.com
I arrived in Tamworth a couple of days ago morning – apparently the weather had been surprisingly mild but right on cue it’s heated up. I drove past the Town Hall and it was looking pretty as a picture. This is where the very first Golden Guitars were presented 40 years ago.
I caught up with MAX ELLIS, one of the founders of the Tamworth Festival. He has written a book on the 40 year history and a fine book it is too.
Walking up Peel Street, I was thrilled to see a photo of one of my heroes BRIAN YOUNG and me stuck on the wall. The sign with the pic was a little threatening.
Off to the airport for the arrival of the QANTAS LINK plane that has been decorated with the Tamworth Festival Logo. Look out for it – it will be in service for a while. ADAM HARVEY entertained.
I know where I’ll be on Monday night – the premier of CHAD MORGANS film “I’m Not Dead Yet”.
