One time Texan Doug Bruce now calls Bendigo home. The former drummer hasn’t looked back since he stepped up to the mic to front his band The Tailgaters. They created quite a buzz at the Festival last year and are set to blow them away again this year with their full-on, no-excuses country shows at The Central Hotel and Fitzroy Tavern. With songs from Doug’s highly acclaimed new album, A Good Place, and a number of catchy new covers added to the set list, these shows will not disappoint.
“We’ve changed up the show quite a bit since last year so the punters can look forward to something new. But one thing hasn’t changed – we still, and always will, play real country music, with no excuses!” says front man, Doug Bruce.
Newest member of The Tailgaters, bass man Rusty Cochrane, is looking forward to the Tamworth shows. “I’ve played bass for a lot of years and in a lot of bands and I find it refreshing to play in a band that knows how to have fun on stage and play real No BS country music – without backing tracks, auto-tunes, big road crews and egos to match. What you see is real guys, playing real instruments and singing with their real voices”!
