Shea Fisher is only 22 but she has long memories of the Tamworth Festival. I spoke with Shea recently via email.

“The first time I came to Tamworth was for a rodeo when I was three years old, the country music festival was on at the same time. The first time I sung at the festival was in 2005, I was performing out at the old rodeo arena during the ABCRA National Finals Rodeo,” said Shea.

“I was amazed at how many country music fans there were. The streets were all closed off, it was crazy! People from all over Australia traveled to Tamworth and even people from other countries.”

My selections could cost me friends and I’m really torn in some cases because there was so much good music this year. I may be right off the mark but here we go……

Kelly Anne Crosby, one half of the Crosby Sisters (with her sister Jody) and renowned party animal’s first Tamworth was 1978, so I thought Kelly might have some insights into the festival to share with us.

“We camped by the river and the bikies came down at about 4am and frightened the hell out of us!!!” She said.

“They were cool, just camping like us. We shifted to Tamworth and my first festival as a local was 1986 and I’ve been a part of every festival since then.” Continue reading “The 1986 Tamworth Festival was so fun, Kelly Anne Crosby decided to stay”
