The Spirit of the Country concert in Toowoomba attracted 20,000 people.
Sporadic rains throughout the day didn’t keep people away. The show went on as a stellar list of country artists soldiered on to a packed audience.
The concert was hosted by radio and television personality RAY HADLEY and featured JOHN WILLIAMSON, KASEY CHAMBERS, LEE KERNAGHAN, TROY CASSAR-DALEY, GRAEME CONNORS, JAMES BLUNDELL, BECCY COLE, ADAM HARVEY, GINA JEFFREYS, SHANE NICHOLSON, BILL CHAMBERS, BRENDON WALMSLEY, McALISTER KEMP and CATHERINE BRITT. The final delivery was a spectacular fireworks display to signify the conclusion of the event.
PRINCE WILLIAM called into the concert and gave the royal wave from a balcony after meeting with heavily impacted victims and SES workers spending time to personally chat with them. Country Music Channel boss and Tamworth Festival party animal Tim Daley speaks on the festival’s place in Australian country music and some festival highs and lows. Be on the look out for dodgy Ceasar salads! “I love the summer camp vibe, the ability to see many gigs, catching up with friends and colleagues and the general good times” says Tim.
TIM DALEY has a dream job – he’s the boss of Country Music Channel and a regular Tamworth Festival party animal. Tim’s first Tamworth visit was 1998 with a bunch of mates. “We camped in a van down by the river. Had a blast.”
“Tamworth is a good fun regional music festival. The CMA Music Festival each June in Nashville is the benchmark for entertainment, promotion, marketing sponsorship and television,” said Tim.
