Shea Fisher is only 22 but she has long memories of the Tamworth Festival. I spoke with Shea recently via email.

“The first time I came to Tamworth was for a rodeo when I was three years old, the country music festival was on at the same time. The first time I sung at the festival was in 2005, I was performing out at the old rodeo arena during the ABCRA National Finals Rodeo,” said Shea.

“I was amazed at how many country music fans there were. The streets were all closed off, it was crazy! People from all over Australia traveled to Tamworth and even people from other countries.”

“Tamworth is an amazing festival. I have had the chance to perform at many festivals around Australia and and in America – including Gympie muster, Mud Bulls and Music and the CMA festival in USA. All country music festivals have the same vibe, everyone is there to have a good time and to hear great music.”

“Every gig in Tamworth is so much fun wether I’m performing with LK in the park or with Steve Forde at his midnight show at Blazes or performing out at the National Finals Rodeo. I think it’s the fans that make every show so great.”

“Tamworth has lots of things I like but a few things I dislike – the extreme heat or the wet wet weather. It seems to be really hot or really wet. But I love being there either way.”

SHEA performs at Wests Diggers on Friday 21st January at 7pm with McAllister Kemp at 7pm
