Dean Perrett is a Australian traditional country artist whose music is totally authentic and genuine. He comes from the land and knows first hand the joys and struggles that go hand in hand with rural life. His songwriting in this respect is never a stab in the dark!
2011 sets off in fine style for Dean with the release of his tenth album CATTLE TOWN, produced by ace guitar picker Stuie French. Lee Kernaghan, Karen Lynne and Johnny Cash guitarist Bob Wootton make guest appearances on Dean’s new album.
Dean’s first visit to Tamworth Festival was in 1986. “Soon as I had my drivers license I headed south to see what it was all about. My sister Kerri and I did some busking with no P.A. (that had to hurt) I got to see so many of the artists who inspired me for the first time. Meeting Stan Coster for the first time I shook his hand hoping somehow a little bit of that great songwriting gift might rub off on me! We got to meet many young people who where starters just like us and now are some of our biggest stars.”
